This has driven me nuts for years, and it seems so basic:  I have a
spreadsheet with some borders around the outside of an area, and all I want
to do is say move a value from the upper right corner of the area to
somewhere in the middle.  If I cut and paste, it not only takes the value,
but also removes the borders from the upper right cell and pastes them in
the middle cell, too.  I don't want that! I just want to move the values.

So over and over I have to copy the cell, paste special, pick value only, go
back to the first cell and delete the contents.  So many steps to do
something so basic!

Surely there's a simple way to do this that I've missed.
