Just a brief note to let Microsoft know that, in my considered opinion, after using Excel 2007 for about nine months, it is the least reliable release of the product since Excel 95. I just love all the random crashes that occur under XP. It's given my Ctrl-S keychord fingers a real workout, as I dont' dare let much time pass without saving my work. This piece of garbage needed at least another six months worth of testing before it was inflicted on paying customers. Of course, I have only myself to blame; everyone warned me against adopting the product too soon. Did you adopt every other version of Excel when it was immediately released? Since Excel 95, yes, I did. That's why I made the observation I did. See, it was based on experience, not conjecture. - Mark From what I understand, Excel does some unconventional things with video memory, exactly what I'm not sure and MS isn't telling. That said, you might try getting the latest and greatest drivers from your video card's manufacturer. Overall, considering both Office and Windows, the vast majority of crashes are due to incompatible device drivers. Just for the record, my experience with 2007 is completely different than yours. I'm not sold on the whole Ribbon business, but I've had 2007 since the betas and it has never crashed on me or corrupted a file. I've caused it to crash myself, usually with a bad parameter to an API function, but Excel has never just up and crashed on its own. Well, I suppose if they care so little about their customers as to release a piece of software like Excel 2007, I shouldn't be surprised that they don't check in on the forums that have their names in them... :) - Mark
