Really needs someones help urgently. I am sure some one has come
accross this. I have autofilter on for " LEVEL" and in the column
"MARKET MATCH"  I want to copy-paste  a value (which is text ) for
those that meet the criteria in the autofilter. So for only rows
3,7,10,33,66 as shown below I want to copy-and paste  the word "HIGH"
but not affect the hidden rows. How can I go about doing this ?

Row #    Level    Market Match
3    10
7    10
10    10
33    10
66    10

Enter the word "High" in the first visible row, then copy/paste it to
the other visible rows. When you take the filter off, you will see
that it has only been applied to the rows that you could see under the
filter.

Hope this helps.

Just selecting the cells and hitting paste works fine for me.  Doesn't
effect the hidden rows at all.  I'm using Excel 2003.
However, if you continue to encounter this problem, highlight the
cells where you want to paste the text.  Hit Ctrl+G.  This will bring
up the Go To dialog box.  Click the Special button.  Select Visible
Cells Only.  Click OK.  Now only the cells which are visible are
selected.  Hit paste without affecting the hidden rows.
