I am attempting to add-in the analysis toolpak for excel. I have tried twice
and it isn't working. I need this for regression analyses more intricate
than just trendlines. I have closed and reopened the program. It should be
appearing under the Data header in my toolbar and it isn't. I followed the
steps suggested in the "help" window.
Thanks to anyone who can help me,
SDS

SDS -
In Excel 2007, the item "Data Analysis" should appear in the Analysis
section of the Data ribbon.
In Excel 2003 and earlier, the item "Data Analysis" should appear in the
Tools menu.
Which version of Excel are you using?
Please provide more details about what you are doing (mouse clicks and
menus) and what is happening or not happening.
For example, in Excel 2007, in the "Load the Analysis ToolPak" help screen,
are you able to complete the first four steps?

<It should be appearing under the Data header >
No, It's under the Tools header. In my case, it's the last line

That is the problem. I have Excel 2003, I have attempted (with no error
messages occurring) to install the Analysis toolpak and it is not showing up
under Tools, Data or any other header. I followed the steps in the Add-In
procedure to a "t" and it is just not showing up....
Thanks for everyones time.

Activating the ATP requires two steps: 1. Installing, 2. activating
Usually installing is part of the process of installing Excel, so it just requires activating:
Tools>Addins, check Analysis Toolpak
If you don't see the choice of Analysis Toolpak, you'll have to re-install Excel, including the ATP

No, it should appear in the Tools menu
If it does not you need to install ToolPak
This is taken from Excel's Help
The Analysis Toolpak is an Excel add-in (add-in: A supplemental program that
adds custom commands or custom features to Microsoft Office.) program that
is available when you install Microsoft Office or Excel. To use it in Excel,
however, you need to load it first.
1.. On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.
2.. In the Add-Ins available box, select the check box next to Analysis
Toolpak, and then click OK.
Tip If Analysis Toolpak is not listed, click Browse to locate it.
3.. If you see a message that tells you the Analysis Toolpak is not
currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it.
4.. Click Tools on the menu bar. When you load the Analysis Toolpak, the
Data Analysis command is added to the Tools menu.
Note To include Visual Basis for Application (VBA) functions for the
Analysis Toolpak, you can load the Analysis Toolpak - VBA Add-in the same
way you load the Analysis Toolpak. In the Add-ins available box, select the
check box next to Analysis Toolpak - VBA.
best wishes
