Doesn't anybody else have this problem with Excel 2007???

Excel 2007 kicks into Autosave on my PC, and basically, the CPU goes to
100%, and Excel is unusable until autosave is done. This actually is taking
5+ MINUTES!!! Its a real hassle, drives me up the wall! Cuts significantly
into my ability to get work done, when i have to suddenly stop what i am
doing for 5 minutes, maybe in the middle of a single cell entry. I have a
modern laptop, not overly slow for anything else, 1GB memory, Windows XP
(not Vista). I have 3 Excel files open, 1 is about 1MB, the other 2 a few
hundred K each.

What could possibly be going on here? Has anybody else seen this with
Excel 2007? I never experienced it with any other Excel version i have
used. Any ideas on if there is any way to stop this from taking so long
(aside from turning off Autosave, which i don't want to do)?

Personally, i would advise against moving to Excel 2007 until this is
resolved. I wish i was back at my old version, myself, for this one single
reason. Otherwise, 2007 is ok.

I only experience this problem on large Excel 97-2003 format
files. Once converted to 2007, the problem goes away. Obviously
if you must keep it in the old format for compatibility reasons,
then yeah, I confirm it is a problem I experience as well.

Wow, that's totally DISGUSTING! Isn't that a violation of anti-trust or
something? They cause me the pain of interrupting my work for 5 minutes a
few times an hour, or else i have to get my colleagues to upgrade to the
same version of Office i am at.

I guess Microsoft is now IBM, no more innovatoin left, just socking it to
the customer whenever they can get away with it.

It makes me angry that i face these constant work interruptions just so they
can sell more Office upgrades.

I am sure it is a bug, not by design. I am hoping SP1 addresses
it.
