about 3 days ago and now i have 2 more users that have the same
issue .

the excel files are assioated with excel . no issues there . when i

Unselect "Ignore other applications" under Tools, Options, General.

Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.

Maybe one of these will work for you.

Just the file associations I think.  Not options, etc.

Ryan, Jim, Dave or whomever else that can help

I'm having the exact same problem thar Ryan described in his post
I've tried both of the proposed solutions but neither worked for me.

The only suggestion I have is to try it again.  (it's easy to screw up, well,
for me at least.)
