Hello Everyone,
I am running into an issue with a user's excel doc.
Whenever a user tries to open a particular workbook excel will load and the
file seems to load but it does not display in excel. Excel acts as if
nothing has been loaded.
Now this is a random issue. Some days the document will load and others it
wont.
Now I have completed the following:
-Repair install of excel
-reinstall of excel
-verified that "Ignore other apps" is not check in excel
-exported the data to a new workbook
-update of office 2003 to sp3
Now the problem previously existed on 1 workbook but now has appeared on 3
others.
If all else fails I am thinking of a format/reinstall, but as a last resort
as it means I will have to setup and deploy a temp pc, backup user data and
redo the user install.
So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks for your assistance,

When you use Window>UnHide
Do you see the workbook in the list then

Hey Ron,
Thanks for the quick response!
I will have to give that a try when it appears for the user again.
As I said sometimes the page will load and others it won't....

You may want to check to see if the worksheet window is just out of the viewing
area, too.
After the user sees the problem, ask them to try
File|Print preview
If they can see stuff, then have them try:
window|Arrange|tiled
and resize the way they like.
This kind of thing can happen if the workbook is shared between users with
different display characteristics.

Thanks for the reply Dave!
-I tried the selecting
Window|Arrage|Tiled
and the workbook appeared on the screen
I found out that there are actually multiple hidden sheets that the user was
not aware of in the workbook. I believe that on occassion excel was trying
to load these sheets instead of the default unhidden 1. To resolve had to go
to format and sheet and unhide all the sheets.
From there I then moved the primary sheet to the front of the workbook and
then rehide the rest.

I don't think that was the problem.
I'd bet (_your_) money that it was that the last person who used the file had a
different video setting (maybe the file is shared between laptop and desktop
users????).
