Is there a way to customize my mouse settings within Excel?

My mouse has a wheel button that I would like to set to the Excel
"calculate" command.

Outside of Excel the wheel button is set "backspace" which I use in my web
browser.

Thanks.

I don't think you can do it within Excel, but if your mouse has
buttons which can be assigned to carry out keypresses, then you can
change the middle mouse button to be the same as pressing F9, which
calculates values on the worksheet.  The downside to this is that
you'll lose your 'backspace' in the web browser.

Other than that I can't really think of a solution.

Mat Richardson

depends on your mouse software. My Logitech Revolution allows me to set
different button functions for different apps. What mouse are you using
and what drivers?

The mouse is a cheapie from Micron Innovations and the drivers don't seem to
have the capability that your Logitech mouse has. I'll probably look to get
the Logitech mouse unless someone else has a solution.
