Where did "Data > Filter > AutoFilter" go?

There was a pull down menu in Office 2000 and 2003 to perform this task.
However, I can't find in Excel 2007. Please let me know how to do this.

Hi Dave,

Thank you. I've tried the big button for Filter, which has the shortcut Ctrl
+ Shift + L. However, it appears the resulting dialog box behaves very
differently than in previous versions. I used to be able to select a column,
and then go to Data > Filter > AutoFilter and be able, for example, to
select a single City or Name, and be able to filter everything out but the
one I selected.

Now it seems I have to clear all the check boxes but the one I want. That's
too tedious and time-consuming. I'm sure there are other ways, but I'd like
something direct and easy as the title of this message. Any ideas? I'm still
hoping I am missing something obvious to somebody else, "male blind" type of
thing.

I don't think MS deleted any functionality, but it sure "feels" that way
because of how things were moved around so much. It looks like this upgrade
will require even experts to train for the upgrade.

You can click the "select all" to select and unselect all.  It's a toggle.

And you could click on the Text Filter and see somethings that are similar (but
different).

Hi Dave,

I discovered that clicking on Select All will toggle all from selected to
deselected, then I can click the value that I want. So it appears as if an
extra mouse click or two are now required, where before I could do it in one
shot.

Hi Emmanuel

If you create a Table first Insert tab>Table>my table has headers, then the
dropdown filters are automatically applied.

If you place your cursor in any cell that contains the value you wish to
filter for>right click>Filter>choose Filter by selected cell's value then
there is no need to go through the process of deselecting first.

I agree that filtering does seem a bit more cumbersome that previous
versions, but the increased facilities on the filtering options far outweigh
this.

Select the Data tab on the ribbon, then in the Sort & Filter group select
Filter

Also on the Home tab, in the Editing group, select Sort and Filter then
Filter
