Cannot open Excel file that was created on office 2003 service pack 2
from a machine running office 2003 service pack 1. Any one have any
ideas, or links to helpful information? I'm trying to figure out why
it will not open and just gives me an error and exits the program.

Try installing Open Office and opening and saving it in it.
