Hi,

I am not sure if this is an Excel problem or it is in Office in
General. If I open two MS Word Files, they open in two separate
windows. However if I open two Excel files - they open in the same
Window.

The benefit of having two separate windows is that they can be placed
side-by-side esp. if you have multiple monitors.

Is this possible in Excel?? I hope my description is clear. If not
let me know and I would try to explain again.

Regards,

When I open multiple Excel workbooks in Excel 2007, they display in their
own windows as in previous versions of Excel. I can change that by going
intoView/Window (Excel 2007) and making changes there. Are you opening a
workspace as opposed to a workbook?

Thanks Tyro - but I don't think I understand what you mean by "going
intoView/Window" I use Office 2002 - and I don't think I can find a
Window option in the View menu.

This is the way I found to have two workbooks open (I have two monitors) so I
can have each one side by side:
Open file 1 and move it to spare monitor.
Open the Excel program again from the desktop.
File, open file 2.

Thanks Misty this works - but why does simply double clicking not
work? It works for MS Word so why not for Excel. Thanks for your tip
though.

Because what works in Excel does not always work in Word; it's just the way
it is.  But, I say, whatever works! It's a hassle, but it works.

Thanks Misty I agree with you. But I still feel that there should be a
way to enable this functionality.
