I am in the process of transferring my data from one PC to another. Having
transferred my spreadsheets I have found they do not open properly.
The new PC has Microsoft works and the old has office 2000.  As I am used to
using office 2000 I was thinking of deleting `works` and installing office
2000.

Are there any potential problems in doing this?

thanks

Why not keep Works AND install Office?
best wishes

Works and Office are very different. Works has very little power and
usefulness. So, you should have office. However, if you plan on keeping on
two DESKTOPS you probably run afoul of your license agreement. If you have a
desktop and a laptop, probably not. Best may be to get a copy of xl2003 for
your new computer.

Many users wouldn't notice any significant difference between xl 2000
and xl 2003. If you have licence problems you could try Open Office on
one of the machines.

I agree with Bernard. There's no harm having both MS Works and Office in your
computer. It's always better to have both so you have a back up. God luck.
