Hello,

There is a user on my network whose using Excel 2003 and when she
preforms a filter in a particular worksheet inside a spreadsheet, she
loses the ability to scroll up and down only, left to right is ok.
This has happened in two separate .xls files and the way I get around
it is to copy out the entire worksheet, create a new one and then
paste the contents in.
Any ideas of why this happens or any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
George

Just a guess...

I'm guessing that the user is applying data|filter|autofilter, then hiding some
rows.

Then with the rows hidden, she uses Window|Freeze panes.

And then finally resets the filter (showing all???).

The cell that was active when she applied freeze panes is now off the bottom of
the screen--and everything above that cell is frozen.

Have her try using Window|Unfreeze panes.

If that works, remind her to only apply the window|freeze panes when all the
rows are visible.

Thanks for the response Dave. I'll suggest this to her tomorrow.
