I can see the gridlines in the worksheet, and I have Show and Print
gridlines checked, but a print preview or print do not produce the
gridlines.
What am I missing?

Using XL 2007? Sounds like a printer problem.
Have you tried
1) Office | Excel Options -> change gridline colour
2) Using borders rather than gridlines
best wishes

In Excel 2003 and earlier, If print setup>sheet is set to "Draft Quality" the
gridlines won't show or print.

Maybe 2007 is the same?

I tried Draft on two printers from XL2007 and the gridlines are there (very
light)
They show in Print Preview
