Problems Recording Macros

I am trying to create a macro in 2007, but having problems. I have set my
security and can see the little micro icon with the word "ready" next to it,
but nothing happened. In addition, the Macro buttons on the Developers bar do
not show up. Did I miss a switch some where? I have a project that is do and
need to add macros to it before I can consider it finished.

Office button>Excel Options>Trust Center tab>Trust Center Settings>Macro settings...set the options
