I have a wksht where I can see the gridlines, and have selected a checkmark
to print out with the gridlines. However, if I do a print preview or print,
the gridlines are missing in the output. I must have turned something off
accidentally.

which gridlines check box are you checking?
- go back to print preview
- on page setup click the "Sheet" tab
- the gridlines check box is in the middle

that should work.
you might have been checking the check box under Tools-Option.
hope that was your problem.

Might be you also have "Draft Quality" checked.

Uncheck it.
