Excel 2003 on XP.

Regardless of how I try to get this to work, ie opening different files in
different sequences, this function is never available.
I have followed the Help on Merge Workbooks but it is still greyed out.

Any ideas anyone.
Many thanks

No, they are all on my hard drive. As the instructions specifiy they are in
the same folder.
I have never seen this function NOT greyed out.
Thanks

The compare and merge workbooks is only available when the workbook is shared
under Tools>Share Workbook.

Maybe you were thinking of Window>Compare side by side with   when you have two
workbooks open.
