Deleting files before Repairing or Re-installing Office or if corrupt

Greetings.  I'm building a small free EXE that will do the following:

delete all EXD files
delete all files in docs and settings Temp folders and subfolders (for XP)
delete alll files in user Temp folders and subfolders (for Vista)
delete all files in the Windows Temp folder and subfolders
delete all XLB files

Each step is optional.  The purpose is to clean the PC before doing a repair
or re-install or to just remove the XLB file if it becomes corrupt

My question:  are there any other files that should be deleted prior to
repairing or re-intalling office?  Or become corrupt and sometimes need
deleting.

I don't have a file type for you to delete, but you may want to give the option
to copy the *.xlb to a different location (and rename it to include the
time/date).  It might be painful if someone chose that option and clicked too
fast--not that I've done anything like that!

Good idea!  I'll change it from a delete option on the XLB to a rename
option.

If you're going to make this office wide, you may want to post (crosspost??) an
equivalent message in some MSWord, PPT, Outlook, ... newsgroups, too.

I think I've read some responses in MSWord newsgroups that describe problems
when Normal.Dot gets corrupted.  Deleting that file can make MSWord work ok,
again.

Since this file can contain macros, I would think moving/renaming would be an
option here, too.

Bob,
Have you considered how you are going to handle all of the add-ins
checkmarked in Tools|Add-ins when you delete or rename the .xlb file.
Many add-ins create custom menu items which won't be there with
a virgin .xlb file, but the .xla files will still be loaded.

I'm planning to put a warnning that deleting the XLB file will remove all
such customization and that it should only be deleted or renamed if new
toolbars are not showing up and customization is not "sticking".  Or if
Excel will not open or the toolbars have disappeared and won't come back.
