it seems to be having a problem.

I start excel as normal from the start menu and then Microsoft Excel,  then
I click a box to start typing, if after clicking a box, and I move the mouse
in any direction it starts to select boxes.  like the mouse button is
already held down, but it is not, I have tried another mouse and also tried
the keyboard short cuts and had the mouse unplugged too, when I have
restarted the pc to make sure it was not anything to do with the mouse.

has anyone else had this and fixed it,?  if so how did you fix it,

thanks in advance for any help that you are able to give regarding this
problem that I am having.

I am using Windows XP with Windows XP Pro installed on top.

not sure, if i have this problem.

i have tried again, but it seems that the mouse button is always pressed.

i have tried to select a menu but nothing works all i seems to be able to do
is move the mouse around and it is highlighting the area from the box that
was select first and the surrounding boxes where i move the mouse to.

i can not press any key on the keyboard to select a menu, i only have the
choice of a right click on the task bar on the excel button to close it, or
failing that a ALT-CTRL-DEL and terminate the programme.  just to get the
mouse back to normal, as i am also unable to click out of excel while excel
is running.

any ideas?
