datasheet, but he saves it on an Intranet where both person have acces
to the datasheet

But person y actually opens the original "shared" version, does his work and
closes it.
Then person x puts a new copy back in that spot. If that's true, then Person
y's work is probably lost and there won't be anything to compare.
