I want to enter numbers from 001 to 999 into cells formatted as text.
How can I without typing 001, 002, 003, etc individually into each
cell?

Format column A as Text. In A1, enter 001. Drag the fill handle down as
far as necessary - XL will increment the number.

I knew the trick but never though it would work in cells formatted as
text. Thanks JE.
