How do I set up a search & replace to go through all of the worksheets in a
workbook when I click on 'replace all' not just the current worksheet?

What version do you have? I believe excel 97 had some problems but with any
later version, group the sheets
first (click the first sheet, hold down shift and click the last), then do
edit>replace
don't forget to ungroup the sheets afterwards

Excel 97's problem was with the "Find" across worksheets.

"Replace" across worksheets always works for me.
