I'd like to add a column in a repeating table with a field that is
automatically incremented as new rows are added. How can this be done in
Infopath?

Hi,

In Infopath we have formula Position(). Set  this for first column for the
first row.
First Change the that column to Expression box and add this formula.
it will increment the number every time you added the row to the table.

I hope this will help for you.

Many thanks. It tool me a while to find out the expression box (a newcomer!)
but it worked beautifully. This is so damn important that the Infopath people
must had to explain it in the help! Excell does it automatically!

Regards.

Would you know of a similar technique or formula that can increment a counter
based on a repeating section ?
