Newbie as usual:

I am trying to figure out how to filter out data in my form from a
sharepoint list using data connections.  I do not know all of the
terminology.

I have created a list with employees names and the type of position they
work in a list library.
In my form, I have several entries that is separated by type of positions.
I want to be able to use data connection to the employee list that is
created in wss 3 list library and only filter out the ones for that entry,
example, Line one is for supervisors only - I would like to create data
connection to the employee list and pull only the people that have
supervisors listed.  How do I do that?  If anyone can help, this will be
great and thank you for your time and patience.

I am not a programmer, I am wanting to learn how to use infopath and learn
all the terminologies.

Hi,

You have to use filter for that dropdown then you can get only supervisors
values.

What is the value to differentiate of supervisors are selected? That value
needs to add in filter then you will get only supervisors.

For adding filter you can follow this links helps you:
