My form has a drop down list and a date picker box.  I want the default view
to not allow any changes in those boxes, like a read only.  I want to have
the only view that can enter the data.

Hi,

You can make the drop down read only once the value selected.
otherwise you can make second view as read only view.

that's for your advice

There are contributors who use the 2nd view on SharePoint so I can't make
that a read only view.

Since I'm working with my view in SharePoint I'm thinking it might be a
problem to make the drop down read only after I add the value.  If it is
still possible, I'd need to know the steps.
