too big display distances between shown and hidden sections

Hello,

the form which I'm developing with InfoPath 2007 is (unfortunately requested
by customer) very long (over several pages). To structure it for better use I
divided it in several sections. At top of the form I placed several check
boxes with conditional formatting to show specific section or not (show or
hide it). That works pretty good except for the display distances between
shown and hidden sections. Dependend on the order the check boxes are checked
(to show the connected section) the distances between the sections differ.
When I check the check boxes in section order of the form the distances are
minimal but when I use a different check order the distances are sometimes
(unnecessarily) too big although the section between to shown sections is
hidden.

I hope I descriped that problem somewhat comprehensible.

Is there any way or working around to avoid the above scenario?

Thanks in advance
Michael

The autoshrink of sections can become broken when manually changed or bumped.

Go to the section where the whitespace occurs and grab the corner to resize.
Drag it as small as possible.
It will size itself to show everything but when components are hidden it
will shrink properly.

Hi Clay,

Thanks for your hint. With this I could reduce some whitespaces but not all.

Due to your clue I played a bit around in this direction and I found that
the problem was  caused by fixed values for height, width and borders in the
sections. I put them all to 'auto' and now it works perfectly.
