Is there a limit on the number of items that can be on a sharepoint list
being bound to a infopath 2003 ttemplate?

I have a sharpoint list which will hav around 9000 rows (entries) but when i
use this list to a drop downlist i get only about 100 out of the list.

I tried adding filtering on the list usings a begins with condition but this
fails due to the list not having brought in all the values.

Does any one know of a solution for this?

Hello,

There are "soft" limits on the number of items you can store in a Document
Library - going over about 2,000 items starts to degrade performance.

However, the issue you are talking about can be changed by setting the
number of items returned in the list view.  By default this is set to 100.
You can change this by going into the View settings and at the bottom of the
page in the "Item Limit" section set it to what you require.

If you have 9000 rows though, you are going to get some performance hits -
if your InfoPath form is web-based, you will probably get timeouts.  If it is
windows-based, you might get a really slow form.  You may have to modify the
way you are using the data.

HI Gavin,

Thanks for the reply. I am new to infopath.

so i couldn't find how to go into the view settings with the instructions
provided....  Appreciate if the direction to reach this settings can be
provided.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

No problem instructions are:

1. Navigate to the list you want to modify
(you need admin privileges from here on)
2. Click on the "View" drop down (by default it probably has "All Items"
selected) and select "Modify this view"
3. Near the bottom of this page is an "item limit" section - expand it
4. Change the "Number of items to display" to the amount you need (i.e.
10,000)
5. Click OK

This should fix your item limit.  I would still recommend you try and move
this data somewhere - you could run into performance issues with this many
items sourced from a list.
