Hi
Very simple question if i design a form from infopath. Can the form be used
on a machine without infopath. I have Office 97 at work would i be able to
put the data in Excel or XML document?

I believe if can be viewed read only without InfoPath.

The data from the form is saved as xml when saved to the local disk.

Yes there is way that you can view Infopath form in even if you do not
have InfoPath installed on your machine.
There is a software that is comming up on www.infopathdev.com which
helps users with out Infopath to view their forms.

Sure - just use a tool such as infoview - www.infoview.net - to convert it
into a web form and let your end users fill in the web forms.
