The only way to avoid this behavior in InfoPath SP1 is to define a print
view which doesn't use one of these controls for your data. E.g., you
could use an expression box. Note that would be the node's value, which
may or may not match the display name you've setup in the drop down (if
the value matches the display name, you should be fine; if not, you will
need to write custom XSL).
