Thank's for the possible fix but it did not work. Here's alittle more info
on the system:
It is running WinXP SP1 with all critical updates installed and along with
Office 2003 Pro with all critical updates. There are numerous apps
installed that mainly consists of DB type apps. The problem comes up when
the user clicks on a link on our Sharepoint portal which opens Infopath to
view/edit the form. This is when he gets the error. I have already purged
the system of all temp an cache files. The user has local admin access and
contributor access to sharepoint. We had the same problem on another system
but got by it by reimaging it. Reimaging this system is not an option.
Hi Joe,
I am sorry the last information did not help resolve the issue. Let's try
the following:
- Navigate to your "problem" Sharepoint library
- Change to an "Explorer" type view where you can actually see the InfoPath
"XSN" file
- Double-click the XSN file - what is the result? Can the user successfully
get a new form or does this produce an error as well? If this does produce
an error, is it the exact same error?
If this indeed works, then I need to ask a clarification: does the link
open the "XSN" file or an existing "XML" file? If it opens an existing XML
file, then I need you to complete the following steps:
- Navigate to your "problem" Sharepoint library
- Change to an "Explorer" type view where you can actually see the InfoPath
"XML" file
- Open the XML file with Notepad (you may want to copy the XML file locally
first), look for the URL specified in the "href" attribute and copy that URL
- From the Start button, choose Run, paste in that URL and click OK - what
is the result?
Thanks Joe,
Scott L. Heim

I did explore to the file and it still gave me the same problem. One thing
that I did not try is to reinstall Office 2003. I'll try that and see if
that helps.
