Appreciate if any one can offer some help on this.

From several help resources about how to send a form in an email message
from Microsoft, I can find following instruction:

1. Open the form that you want to send.
2. On the File menu, click Send Form as Attachment.

My problem is: I can not find "Send Form as Attachment" from File menu.

Do I need to do some configuration in order to show it? I can not find how
to do it so far.

I have Office 2003 SP1, which includes Outlook 2003, installed.

Hi Kenneth,

Just to confirm: you are opening the InfoPath template file (XSN) in Design
View...correct? This is when you would see the option: Send Form as
Attachment. If you double-click the XSN so that you can enter/edit data,
then you will see: "Send to mail recipient."

I hope this helps!

Hi Scott,

First really appreciate your reply. It is my first one but I have seen your
reply posts everywhere in this group.

Yes, I confirm I am in design view, but I can not see "Send Form as
Attachment."

In Form fill out view, I can not see "Send to mail recipient."

Isn't that strange?

Thanks, Ken

Hi Kenneth,

That is indeed odd - hopefully, we'll be able to isolate this.

Some of these questions may seem odd but please bear with me! :-)

- You definitely have Office/Outlook 2003 installed on this machine?
- Outlook has been started and setup on this machine?
- Launch Internet Explorer, from the Tools menu choose Internet Options,
select the Programs tab...what application is specified for E-mail?
- Launch another Office application (i.e. Excel) - from the File menu do
you have the "Send to" option and the ability to send to an "e-mail
recipient?"

Thanks Kenneth!

Hi Scott,

Thanks again for your detail check points.
Here are what I found:

1. Word, Excel, PowerPoint all have a menuitem "Send to" which leads to a
submenu containing several menu items:
 Mail Recipient (for review)
 Mail Recipient (as attachment)
 Routing Recipient
 Exchange Folder

2. InfoPath and Outlook do not have "Send To" menu item under File menu.

3. On one of my co-worker's machine, I can find either "Send Form as
Attachment" or "Send to mail recipient.", depending on the views, directly
under File menu in InfoPath. By "directly" here, I mean not under "File->Send
To".

4. Office 2003 is installed to our machines using the same SMS package.

5. I am the only InfoPath developer in the organization and I installed
following on my machine:
 5.1 InfoPath 2003 SDK
 5.2 InfoPath 2003 toolkit for VS.NET

6. I am not sure if I have "Send Form as Attachment" or "Send to mail
recipient." before 5.1 and 5.2 were installed.

7. In InfoPath, if I do Tools-> Customize, in Commands pane, select "File"
at left side, I do see both "Send Form as Attachment" and "Send to mail
recipient." are listed.

8. If I select "Rearrange commands" button, neither "Send Form as
Attachment" nor "Send to mail recipient." are listed which is understanable.
If I click "Add" button, I believe I can add "Send Form as Attachment" and/or
"Send to mail recipient." to the "File" menu. I have not done that yet
because i am wondering if it will damage something. Also, by adding them this
way, I do not think it will work "senario-sensitive" which I mean displaying
"Send Form as Attachment" in design view and displaying "Send to mail
recipient." in fill-out view.

Forgive me if you think it is too long.

Hi Kenneth,

Thank you for the update. One thing I did not see: what was set for "Email"
in IE?

Also, when you say you can see the mail options on a co-workers
machine...was that co-worker logged on to their machine or were you logged
onto their machine? If you were not logged on, would you be able to log on
to another machine and see what behavior you get?

Assuming the behavior is the same, go ahead and test adding the command to
the toolbar and let me know the results.

Thanks again...

Hi Scott,

I am sorry I forgot the mail setting in IE. The email program for IE is set
to Outlook.

I am from Toronto so my co-worker left. I will check it tomorrow.

Thanks

Ken

Thanks Greg. I visited your link and I am sure my outlook meets all of the
three points. There must be some other links between InfoPath and Outlook
that somehow damaged.

Hi Scott, Greg and everybody else who are interested,

I resolved the problem by doing "Help" -> "Detect and repair...".

Thanks
