I have an infopath form on a sharepoint site. I recently moved a some of the
controls in the layout tab so they were in the same order as the form itself.
I didn't move any controls out of a group and into another group.

However, I now cannot open any existing forms, when I try to I get the
following error message

Element
'{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2004-07-20T13:42:04}cust
omer_type
'
is unexpected according to content model of parent element
'{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2004-07-20T13:42:04}cert
ified_approval
'.
Expecting:
over2_comments
.

Does anyone know how I can open the existing forms to get past this error?

Open the form in design mode and republish it to the location and i think
that will get you around your problem

Is the form published anywhere else?

Unfortunately it's only on one sharepoint - I also had a copy of the form
emailed to me some time ago, (not the template) and I can't open that either.

Last open undo the moving of the elements back to where they were.  Then open
the form in design mode, it should let you now.  Leave the form open in
Infopath design and THEN move your controls.  As Infopath is open it should
realise what your doing (as it were) and 'understand' that this is to be the
controls new home.  Hence you should have no problems.  If this doesn't work
then i am fresh out of ideas.
