The only way in Infopath to connect a form to a database is to make a new
form by going to:-

create new from data connection.... after selecting design a new form.

This way you can browse to your data source and off you go.  If you want to
submit to the datasource then make sure every table you include has a key
field or the submit status will be unavailable.
