We deployed a form and then realized that a field, Headcount, was missing.  A
number of users using the form and have saved copies they are working on.  I
added the new field to the form schema, gave it a default and added a form
field for it.  When opening an existing form that was saved before the field
was added, the field displays blank rather than the default value and the
field is read only.  Is there a way I can programmatically create this
element when loading the saved form?  Is there some other way to handle this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Jay,

Yes you could it programmatically in the OnLoad event, or you could use
rules.  In design mode, go to Tool / Form Options / Open and Save Tab/ Open
behavior.  You can add a rule with the condition: if field is blank..

Hope that it helps.
