I am working with an InfoPath form that currently allows the user to enter
company names without any validation.  Reconciliation is a nightmare.  What I
would like to do is connect the field with an external list or database that
narrows the choices as you type.  So you type in "I" and a dropdown appears
with all the choices beginning with "I", then you type "N" and now you see
all the choices beginning with "IN", etc. etc. until the dropdown list is
narrow enough for you to select the company and branch you need.  The source
of data has to be external because it is a dynamic list that is constantly
being updated by a different set of people.  We can be flexible in capturing
the external data, so it could be in Access, Excel or whatever else could be
connected to InfoPath.  Can anybody point me in the right direction to learn
about how to do this?  Or is it even possible to do with Infopath?
