I have created an InfoPath form, published it to a shared folder on our
network and given permissions to the appropriate users to view the forms.
The problem is when a form is submitted to the user as an attachment, the
form is not visible when it is opened.  All users have InfoPath on their
systems.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this
problem and how to correct it.

Thank you,

Kathy,
There are a couple of possiblities that could be causing this, you may have
an empty view in the form that is being set as the default view when the form
is opened if you go to the view menu on the form you should be able to see if
there are any other views to switch to.

Some other things to try are
- Can the user open a new blank form by clicking on the template in the share?
- If you open the attached form after opening a blank form from the share
does the attached form work?
- Do you recieve any error messages when you open the form?
- What template was used to create the XML document that was attached to the
email?

Thanks Ben.  I checked the views and the only one there is the default view
which contains the form.  When the other users open the attachment it is
simply blank, no error messages appear.  I created the form using a new blank
template.  I have created one other before this but with that particular form
I was not utilizing the submit to email feature.

When the users open it from the template in the shared folder the form
displays properly.

Do you have any other suggestions that I could try?

Ben,

Thank you for your help.  I checked the views and found only the default
view.  I also checked with a user in my office and he could open the form
directly from the template.  When he tried to open the attachment from the
email after, it was still blank.  There were no error messages, just the
blank form.

The template was created using a new blank form.  I have created other forms
but did not use the submit to email option.

If you have any additional help, all is welcome.  I just seem to be stuck.

Thanks,

Kathy

Hmmm very curios indeed couple of things to try
if you save the attachment and open it does it work.
If you open the saved attachment in notepad is the XML there?

if that fails are you able to send me the template?

Ben,

Nothing seems to work.  I am the only one who can open the form.  The other
users open only a blank form.  I am really fustrated at this point.  Even
when the file is saved and opened in notepad, all that appears is code but
not anything like xml.

I have set the template to be fully trusted and digitally signed it as well,
but that didn't seem to help either.

I will be more than happy to send the template to you if you could give me
your email address.

Thanks for all your help.
Kathy
