Exporting form data to an existing Excel spreadsheet

I would like to know if it is possible to export the data saved in a form to
a spreadsheet which already contains data. For example, a user fills out a
form and e-mails it to a supervisor. The supervisor then opens the form and
selects "export to excel". Following the wizard, there is no option to choose
the Excel spreadsheet you want to export to, it always creates a new one. I
know that many forms can be exported at the same time, but again you can not
append to an existing spreadsheet. If there is a way to export to an existing
spreadsheet, can the placement of the data be defined? What I mean is, if the
spreadsheet you wanted to export to was setup with column headers, could the
form data be manipulated to go into the columns in a specific order?

Thanks
Graham
