Hello!  I am kind of new to this.  OK, we have two text box fields on an
InfoPath form, A and B.  Once the user enters data into field A and tabs to
the next field, this same data populates field B.  The kicker is, the user
may need to edit the populated data in field B without affecting the original
data in field A.

How can I do this?

You can add a rule to field A that sets the value of field B to that of field
A. The rule will fire whenever the value of field A changes. You are free to
edit either field A or field B. If you edit field B, it won't affect field A,
since you haven't set any rules on field B. However, if you edit field A
after editing field B, field B will reset to the value of field A. There is
no way to prevent this unless you make field B read-only.

Scratch my last remark; it's confusing. :)  But what I meant to say was that
you cannot prevent editing any field unless you make it read-only, which is
what you don't want.
