i want to toggle views using the button. i followed instructions on this but when i double click the button to set the rule i don't see the 'rules' tab. what am i doing wrong or is there something missing from my infopath? There is no "Rules" tab, but a "Rules" button on the "General" tab on the "Properties" dialog box that opens when you double-click on the button. Click on that button to add rules. --- S.Y.M. Did you add the button yourself to the form? Or is it a standard "New Record" or "Run Query" button that InfoPath adds for you when you bind your form to a data connection? In either case, when you double-click on the button to open its "Properties" dialog box, what does the drop-down list box behind the "Action" label on the "General" tab say? If it's not set to "Rules and Custom Code", you won't see the "Rules" button. --- S.Y.M. It looks like you have the release version without the service pack installed. Try installing SP2 and see if it helps to solve your problem. --- S.Y.M.
