i have a form that takes the user through different steps of a certain
process.  there is a checklist section for tasks completed--such a filling
out a word document or entering data into access.  is there any way to have a
link that takes to user directly to the appropriate document so that they can
go there and complete the task while filling in the checklist?  i tried the
attachment control but it opens the document as read only.  i really
appreciate all of your help.

Have you also already tried Word or Access automation to open the documents
through code using the "Word.Application" or "Access.Application" objects?
