i m not able to use "sum" function in my infopath .

hi , i m making a small project in infopath n problems i m facing are :
1. i m not able to apply any function as there is no button to apply
function in the properties of any text box that i m using to calculate the
sum and percentage.can u plz help me what things i have to check so that i
can use function easily .i m able to use sum function in various examples of
forms provided by infopath

Hi,
Follow the steps below to get the “sum” function in text box:

1.    Go to text box propertied window and click on “rules” button
2.    Then click “add” and then “add action”
3.    “Action” window is displayed .In that window select the option “set a
fields value” from drop down list box
4.    Then click on “fx” button near “value” label
5.    “Insert Formula” window is displayed. In that click on “Insert function”
button
6.    There are different number of functions in “insert function” window

hello mahitha
1. Go to text box propertied window and click on “rules” button
u gave me this answer thanxs but what rules button u r talking about there
is only one rule button data validation> add a rule
Ques : can u plz help me in detail actually i m a beginner

In text box proerties window you have data validation button.below that
button you have "rules" button.Click on that button and follow the previous
steps given by me
