Sargrant,
There are a number of ways to publish the template file however it is worth
noting that the .xml file your are emailing to your users has a path in it
that points to the location of the template.xsn with this in mind
1: You can publish the form template to a SharePoint form library.
2: You can publish the template to a shared foler on the network (based on
the sound of your solution this sounds like it could be a good option)
3: you can use the RegForm utility to deploy the form template to each of
the users machines
As stated above publishing the template file to a shared directory may be
your best option that way if any changes are made to the template you don't
need to manually to to each machine on the network and make updates. As long
as each machine has access to the shared location, your forms should open.
If youre still having problems let me know and I'll put up some info on my
blog for you
Cheers

Ben,
Thee is another issue that I wanted to bring up. The form that I have
created is for a Hospital and there are 18 computers for the patients to
utilize and the information that you gave me for them to use the program
interally was great. However our goal is to publish this form to the
Hospitals Intranet and Internet pages so that the patients can utilize the
form at their earliest convenience.
I know from reading some of the other threads that in order to use the form
the users have to have the program. Does this apply to internet and intranet?

sargrant,
My Appologies for my late reply was making the most of the easter break.
Adam is correct there are third party applications out there e.g. InfoView
that will take an InfoPath form and create a web from from the .xsn
definition. It is worth noting however that the more complex your form is the
less effective tools like this are.
It is also worth noting that the next version of InfoPath directly addresses
this issue of requireing the InfoPath client.
As for publishing the form to an intranet this can be achieved by publishing
the form to a WSS (Windows SharePoint Services) Form library, users can then
access the form template from the library.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Is there another program that will allow me to design a form with similar
functions that doesn't utilize that particular program to open it?
