Is it possible to use InfoPath to create a project tracking tool, including
alerts when something (a task) is due or a date is coming up?  Specifically,
we'd like to be able to track progress to turning a prospect into a client.
We want to be able to assign specific tasks to specific people and track
their progress, including an alert function when something is approaching or
past due.  I can create most of the form. The alert function is what has me
stumped.  Thanks.

Hi

Yes sure it's possible but not without a lot of dev. You are trying to
create something that already exists... : MS Project Server.

Best regards

Our product - SharePoint Reminder - should do some of what you want - and
there is a free Community License available so depending on your requirements
it may not even cost you anything!

There is an exmple on the website and in the manual detailing how to setup
alerts to email the person assigned to a task when its becoming due (e.g. 3
days before its due) and when it becomes overdue.

Drop me an email if you have any questions....Ryan
