Sharing forms

Perhaps an obvious/stupid question, but here goes.

I have created a form and I am trying to email it to someone and they cannot
open it.  She can e-mail a sample form from the Infopath library and I can
open that form but anything I have created and send to her, does not work.  I
suspect that it's because we do not share a server.  I have been successful
in sending the form in the body of the e-mail but we need to share the form
and both users need to be able to fill the form out.

Any help would be much appreciated. If this program is not what we should be
using can anyone suggest a program that will allow me to create a form with
the same data fields etc. as Infopath, that can be shared and filled and can
be used on a PC without a shared server.

Does the other person have InfoPath installed on her machine...InfoPath forms
are useless to those without the software.

The other person does have Infopath installed on her PC but like I said
earlier we are not connected by the same server.   When I send her a copy of
the new form she gets an error saying that it cannot find the template for
the form then it list my file path.

Could it be that we have not installed the software correctly?

Thanks for any help.

The only other consideration I know of that could apply is that the template
needs to be accessible to her.  You say you are not on the same server, so if
the template (.xsn) is on a network share on your server and you send the
form (.xml), then it won't work.
The solution would be to publish the template to an internet location you
both can see.  Also workable, but a pain in the butt would be to send her the
template, but then you would have to edit the form xml by hand to change the
location where it is looking for the template.

Hi,

If the form is published to a sharepoint it actually does Relink the XML to
the Template. But in case if you have published to a Folder on the Machine
the Relink doesnt happen to the XMl with the Template. So the XML file doesnt
open.

I can suggest you to use the add in tool for InfoPath at the link below

Hope this helps you.
