Infopath User Access Rights

Hi Everyone,

We are trying to implement Infopath solutions for our HR Department.
We have done a few rounds of discussions and deciding whether Infopath
would be suitable to replace our current Appraisal forms.

We are in the midst of our technical discussion and would like to find
out about the access rights of each user.

For example, if we have allocate the user rights in the SQL database,
would Infopath be able to determine which user is using the form and
based on the username, would the infopath be able to switch views
accordingly?

The user rights table would be something like:
1. John is the appraisee.
2. Tom is the appraisee.
3. Peter is the appraiser who is the supervisor of both John and Tom.
4. Peter should be able to access both John and Tom forms, but John
should not be able to access Tom's form and vice versa.

We were wondering if this could be implemented in Infopath. Any
Infopath concepts or help would be greatly appreciated.

We would like to use Infopath rather than ASP.Net.

Thanks.

In SP1 Roles are a native feature of InfoPath.  The Active Directory
features of Windows are used to determine the current logged in user.  It
should be noted, however, that Roles should never be used as a security
feature.

InfoPath Lab #7 steps you through the process of setting up views based on
Roles.  You can find it here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_ip2003_tr/h
tml/odc_INF_Lab_07.asp

I will also be giving an online presentation of this lab in October on MSDN.

Looks like this was a year ago, but I'm curious to find out how it worked for
you?

Did HR use InfoPath for reviews?
