Hello,

I would like to create a infopath form that will submit to a SQL server
database.  I would also like to publish the form on sharepoint.  Can
someone give me a start?  My biggest problem is making the infopath
form talk to SQL.

Thanks
Geoff

You can follow the steps outlined in this article
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011199501033.aspx to bind your
form to a table in SQL Server and have it "talk" to SQL Server. The article
is for MS Access, but the steps are the same for SQL Server.

Then you can add a data connection to submit the form to SharePoint through
the "Tools > Data Connections..." menu item. After adding this you'll have to
add a rule on a button with a "Submit using a data connection" action to use
this data connection for submission to SharePoint.
