No, InfoPath supports web services as the method to interact with arbitrary
back-end data systems. Probably by now, most systems that support ODMA for
document interchange will also support web services to retreive and check in
documents (I'm assuming you're interested in document workflow or such).

Let us know if there are more specifics, someone may have done work with the
systems you're thinking about using.
