Hi,

I have followed this article
(http://weblog.vb-tech.com/nick/archive/2006/09/04/1753.aspx) which uses
workflow and InfoPath forms in MOSS. I then ran the install.bat for the
workflow which added everything to SharePoint successfully.

Then in my document library I select my workflow from the workflow template
list and click Next. I then get the InfoPath Form services dialog telling me
of an error which is "The specified form cannot be found."

I can see all the forms at central administration in sharepoint and my forms
are in the FEATURES directory..

CAn anybody help me with this or where else I could post this message

Thanks, Rick

I am about to write a blog about this error because it comes up often in
the communities.

The problem is the association form is not browser-enabled, if you were
to add a verify of the xsn file in the install.bat that error should be
displayed.

To fix it you need to republish the association form to the network (the
directory the install.bat file is), when it asks for the access path you
need to remove the access path (make it blank).  The publish wizard will
throw a wobbly, just press ok and continue until the form is published.

Then rerun the install.bat file.

Thanks for your reply Maui..

I'm not sure this is my problem because i ran a verfiyformtemplate on both
my xsn files and neither of them came back with that error. The only warning
I get is about having them set as full trusted which i set in infopath.
Although i did have that error you mentioned previously and I actually did do
you what mentioned which fixed my browser-enabled error when running the
verfiy.

Everything in my install.bat runs fine but i'm still getting the same error
inside sharepoint...

Ok, I have come across this issue before and I have personally spoken
with some of the PM's of Infopath regarding this issue during the Dev
Kitchen in September.

What actually happens is during the install of the workflow template the
full trust on the form is ignored.  Even though looking at the form
template under the central administration (Manage Form Templates) it
shows the template has full trust, it really doesn't have full trust.

Some of the symptoms I was coming across with this is I could open the
form in the Infopath Client but I could not open the form in browser
mode.  (The Infopath client form was referencing the URN on my C drive
and not sharepoint)

To resolve this issue I published the form with a domain trust level and
it worked fine.

Ok I have switched my security to domain trust and still no luck. The
install.bat runs with no errors, the verify runs ok except on the TaskEdit
which return 2 warnings:

DegradedPerformance : DataObject 'ItemMetaData' is configured to be
initialized on load.
DegradedPerformance : Could not create a cached version of a new form. This
will
impact server performance. The previous 1 message or messages mention the
reasons why server optimization of this form template was not possible. If
performance is critical, those messages should be evaluated to determine
whether the corresponding features are needed in the form.

I assume with these warnings the form should still opne up. I can view the
properties on both forms under “Manage Form Templates” in central admin but
as soon as I try and add the workflow to my document library I get the
unknown error and the log files says :

Exception occurred during request processing. (User: COMOPS\rdemarco, Form
Name: , IP: 10.30.2.116, Request:
http://mels-008:1580/_layouts/CstWrkflIP.aspx?List={5FC9466B-B729-40BA-944B-419A89437100},
Form ID: , Type: InfoPathLocalizedException, Exception Message: The specified
form cannot be found.)

This is now driving me a bit crazy…

Hi Rick,

Sorry for the delayed response, I moved last weekend and didn't get the
internet going until this morning.

Can you open the form if it is published to the network?
