Hi,

I am trying to populate a DropDownList by manipulating the underlying xml,
but have yet to find out how.
I have created two fields one bound to the Text value, and one repeating
field used to fill the list, but I can only populate a single value.

How can I fill the list with several values?

For clarity, the functionality I want to achieve is described in this
article under

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP010968321033.aspx

... and filling the list with values from another part of the form.

I may have misunderstood some basic InfoPath functionality but all I get
is a blank line and the default value of the repeating field.  How do I
fill several values in the list (and get rid of the blank line)?
