I'm totally new to Infopath.

I have a drop down list in the middle of a form surrounded by some other
controls. When I print preview the form or print it to paper, the selection
appears underlined and a blank space is printed also (a space the same size
as the list when it opens to allow you to make a selection). If the list is
in a table, the holw row changes it's size.

Any suggestion to avoid this problem?

Thank you all.

Have you already tried using a print view? See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HP010967261033.aspx

You can create a print view for your form and drag and drop the same field
for your drop-down onto it, but then make it a text box to print only the
selected value.
